Project Unify

Project Unify

Project Unify began in 2018 as a simple disaster relief group delivering supplies. When we realized how many supplies show up to a disaster and how much work needed done in neighborhoods we decided to dive into the clean up and rebuilding work also. It is our goal to teach everyone we meet the gospel, that’s the reason we do any of this. It is also our goal to show through our actions the love of God. As we began helping clean up hard hit areas we noticed we need could do more together than we could apart. At this point multiple congregations started coming together, different organizations started joining the effort, and whole communities began to rally around the idea the effort. We changed the name to Project Unify in 2020 due to all the improvements and additional teams helping. It has continued to grow at a steady pace and we pray it will continue to do so. In 2021 alone we were part of 47 baptisms, over 300 bible studies, 23 of which are still ongoing. These conversions are a direct result of our evangelistic purpose through disaster relief.

We have been able to help in multiple areas over the past 4 years. Some of our bigger achievements outside of bible studies and baptisms include tearing down whats left of homes, re-grading the land, and helping to rebuild homes. We have had a mobile home donated to us which we moved across the state of Alabama to donate to a family who lost everything but their lives. We were able to stock that same home with furniture, appliances, and just about anything else a family of 3 may need. We have taken water to areas left without water from winter storms. We have helped families who were quoted upwards of $28,000 for clean up, we came in and did for free. These families had no insurance, no extra income, and no way to come up with that much money legally. Following all of our efforts we try to replace what we have the ability to and offer classes, studies, and assistance to help in building a better life than the one that was before the storm. Everything we do is free, ran by volunteers and funded by donations.

Looking to the future we try to plan to the best of our abilities. Storms seem to be more frequent, and the need continues to grow. With that said we have a plan that we are navigating to help us as we go. It is our goal to add a portion of Project Unify to as many states as we can. We would like to have a piece of equipment in each state always ready to go. We are beginning to save donations in order to upgrade our current truck. We have a 2001 F-450, the towing capacity has nearly doubled on newer models and the fuel economy is much much better on newer models. We have a team in Tennessee and Oklahoma; we would love to be able to send a mini-excavator to one and a track loader to the other. Storms come and go, and during our down time we do our best to serve our local communities with all of the resources we have. This isn’t just disaster relief, its an effort to change the world around us. We want to be good stewards, this means putting our resources to work, not being lazy, and serving everyone God gives us the opportunity to serve. In all things we do, to God be the glory!
