Growth takes time.  We are not to stay newborns, but must grow (1 Pet. 2:2).  We must go on to maturity (Heb. 5:12-6:1).

1. Eternal consequences are real (Heb. 9:27; Mat. 24:29-31, 36-44; Col. 1:18).
2. It's easier to lead and be lead when we're growing (Col. 1:9-10).
3. Because a thriving spiritual life is contagious (Gal. 5; Col. 3:1-17).
