1 Corinthians 2:14

Because people today cannot discern between right and wrong! (The rise of postmodern thought and the rejection of absolute truth.)
Because God demands we be a discerning people!

Definition of Discernment: to judge closely, examine; to distinguish, separate out so a to investigate by looking throughout objects or particulars; to examine, scrutinize, question, hold a preliminary judicial examination (1 Cor. 1:21; 2:15)
Some didn't always get it right: David, Solomon, Jonah, Judas Iscariot.
There is a great need for understanding in the church (Psalm 32:9).
