How are we to treat others who mistreat us?

Mat. 5:38-39 - Resist retaliation!

  1. One who slaps you
  2. One who takes your coat
  3. One who makes you walk a mile
  4. One who asks of you

Mat. 5:40 - Don't fall in love with your rights!

Mat. 5:41 - Do what is expected, and then some!

Mat. 5:42 - Give, not irresponsible stewardship, but as they have need!

Mat. 5:43-44 - Love your enemies!

  • What is love?  To bless, to do good, to pray for them.  Luke 6:27; Prov. 25:11
  • The #1 key is prayer!  It is difficult to hate those for whom we pray!
  • Why?  We are trying to be like God, like the Son of God!
